உடாஅதும் உண்ணாதும் தம்உடம்பு செற்றும்கெடாஅத நல்லறமும் செய்யார் - கொடாஅதுவைத்தீட்டி னார்இழப்பர், வான்தோய் மலைநாடஉய்த்தீட்டும் தேனீக் கரி.
Utaaathum unnaathum thamutampu serrum / Ketaaatha nallaramum seyyaar - kotaaathu / Vaiththeetti naarizhappar, vaanthoay malainaata / Uyththeettum thaeneek kari.
பொருள்
தாமும் உண்ணார், பிறர்க்கும் உடுக்கக் கொடார், உடம்போடு அழியாத நல்லறமும் செய்யார். கொடாமல் வைத்து ஈட்டியவர் அதை இழப்பர்; வானைத் தொடும் மலைநாடனே, தேனீ ஈட்டிய தேனை வேறொருவர் எடுத்துச் செல்வது போல.
Meaning
They neither eat nor give clothes away, and do no good that would outlast the body. Those who gathered without giving will lose it, O lord of mountains that touch the sky, just as honey gathered by bees is carried off by another.

தேனீ பூக்களிலிருந்து தேனைச் சேர்க்கிறது; ஆனால் அந்தத் தேன் அதற்கே என்று இருப்பதில்லை. மனிதனின் சேமிப்பும் அப்படியே.
உடம்போடு அழியாத அறம் ஒன்றே கைவிடாத துணை. இந்தப் பாட்டுடன் 'செல்வம் நிலையாமை' இயல் நிறைவு பெறுகிறது: செல்வம் நிலையாது, அதனால் அறம் செய்.
Explanation
A bee gathers honey from flowers, but the honey is never kept for the bee. Human savings are the same.
Only the good that does not perish with the body stays with us. With this verse the chapter on the impermanence of wealth closes: wealth will not last, therefore do good.
