பொருள்
குற்றமற்ற பெருஞ்செல்வம் வந்த காலம் தொடங்கி, எருதுகள் உழுது விளைவித்த உணவைப் பலரோடும் பகிர்ந்து உண்க. செல்வம் யாரிடத்திலும் நிலையாக நில்லாது; வண்டிச் சக்கரம் போல மேலும் கீழுமாகச் சுழன்று வரும்.
Meaning
From the day clean, abundant wealth comes to you, eat the grain your oxen ploughed for, and share it with many. Wealth stays firmly with no one; like a cart wheel it turns, now up, now down.

'பகடு நடந்த கூழ்' என்பது எருதுகள் உழுது விளைத்த நெல். உழைப்பால் வந்த செல்வத்தைத் தனியே உண்ணாமல் பலரோடும் பகிர வேண்டும் என்கிறது பாடல்.

Explanation
