Meaning
Knowing the truth that life comes and goes like a rainbow in the sky, whose coming no one can foresee, we bow until our heads touch the ground before the God whose feet never touch the earth, and take refuge in Him, praying that what we hold in our hearts may be fulfilled.

Explanation
A rainbow appears without warning and vanishes the same way; birth and death are like that. The book opens by saying that only those who see this truth turn to God.
'The God whose feet do not touch the earth' describes One beyond all attachment to this world. It is a fitting start for a book about impermanence.
To reflect on
In a life as brief as a rainbow, seek the One who does not pass.
