Meaning
With cool, gem-like waters and savoury fruits, with cool flowering breezes and the green of fertile groves, you shine richly - hail, Mother! With nights that shiver in the clear moonlight, with trees bearing cool wide-opened flowers, with the light of a smile and the beauty of honeyed speech, you are filled and you give both joy and boons.
Though crore upon crore of voices sound and crore upon crore of shoulders stand before you in triumph bearing many a long array, what is it to say that your own strength has fallen short? You abound in power; you bring rare honour; you drive off the strong army the enemy has brought.
You are wisdom, you are dharma, you are the heart, and within it the marrow; you are the life that dwells in the body. You are the hardness in the arm, the love in the heart. All the divine images that shine adorned in every temple here, Goddess, are yours. You are Mother Parvati who holds many armies, and Lakshmi who delights in the shining lotuses, and Saraswati who grants wisdom!
You are filled with grace; you have no equal, none! You have put away evil, you are joined to the wealth of waters, you abound in the good fruit of works that ripen; you wear the green that comes of abundance; you hold growing joy; you shine with a faint smile; you are adorned with many ornaments. Coming into both worlds you sustain our life: Mother, we bow at your feet!

Explanation
Of the three Tamil versions of Vande Mataram this is the second. The first keeps closest to the Bengali; here Bharathiyar brings out the grain of Tamil, in the compound descriptions of gem-like water and cool wide-blown flowers.
Another change lies in the standing paragraph: crore upon crore of voices, crore upon crore of shoulders. That is not a translation of a single line but the sound of a collective voice, and the idea of that rising crowd runs from Bankim to Bharathiyar's hymn and beyond.
The last verse gathers the three names Parvati, Kamalai and Vani - askesis, wealth and art - before 'you have no equal' is tossed out in the midst, and the poem closes on the praise of the Goddess.
