Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara Kanda; Kamba Ramayanam tradition'I Have Seen Sita'
From the Valmiki Ramayana, Sundara Kanda. Returning from Lanka after finding Sita, Hanuman's very first words to the vanaras waiting on the shore were, "I have seen Sita!" They roared with joy.
Later, when he met Rama, Hanuman again did not talk in circles. He began, "I have seen the Devi," and told him clearly that she was well and thought only of him, and gave him the crest jewel Sita had sent.
In Tamil, Kamban sings it as "Kandanen karpinukku aniyai kangalal", with the word "I have seen" first and everything else after. Hanuman, who eased the waiting Rama's anguish with his very first word, is a beautiful example of saying clearly what must be said.
