ஸ்ரீமத் பாகவதத்திலிருந்து. குந்தியின் வாழ்க்கை துன்பங்களால் நிறைந்தது: இளமையில் கணவனை இழந்தாள்; அரக்கு மாளிகையில் தீ; காட்டில் அலைச்சல்; சபையில் மருமகளுக்கு அவமானம்; போரில் பேரழிவு. ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் கண்ணனே அவர்களைக் காத்தான்.
போர் முடிந்து கண்ணன் துவாரகைக்குப் புறப்பட்டபோது, குந்தி அவனிடம் வேண்டினாள்: “எனக்கு அடிக்கடி துன்பங்களைக் கொடு. ஏனெனில் துன்பத்தில்தான் உன்னைக் காண்கிறேன்; உன்னைக் கண்டால் மீண்டும் பிறவி இல்லை.”
துன்பத்திலும் தளராத அவள் உறுதியும் பக்தியுமே அவளின் உண்மையான சொத்து.

From the Srimad Bhagavatam. Kunti's life was full of sorrows: widowed young, the fire in the house of lac, wandering in the forest, her daughter-in-law humiliated in the assembly, and the devastation of war. Each time, Krishna protected them.
When the war was over and Krishna was leaving for Dwaraka, Kunti prayed to him: 'Let troubles come to me again and again, for it is in trouble that I see you, and one who sees you is not born again.'
Her steadfastness and devotion, unshaken even in suffering, were her true wealth.
