Meaning

Always lost in the pleasures of women whose speech is sweet as milk, I do not know the way to be saved; grant me your flower-feet! O nephew of Vishnu, who sleeps upon the many-hooded, legless serpent that feeds on the wind, O Lord of the red spear!

Explanation

The wordplay 'kaale undu, kaale ilaadha' is lovely: the serpent that eats air (kaal) and has no legs (kaal). Admitting 'I do not know the way' is where surrender begins.

From the Srimad Bhagavatam, Book 8

The rescue of Gajendra

Gajendra, king of elephants, was bathing in a lake when a crocodile seized his leg. He struggled for a thousand years and could not break free. When his strength was spent, he lifted a lotus in his trunk and cried, 'O Primal Source!' Vishnu, resting on Adisesha, rushed on Garuda and slew the crocodile with his discus. Grace came the very moment he admitted he had no way out.

To reflect on

Where do you need to tell the Lord, 'I do not know the way'?
