Explanation

The previous verse ended 'the gentle one' (melliyale); this begins 'slender' (melliya). The special idea of this verse is 'those who worship the devotees'. The great blessing goes not only to those who worship the Mother, but to those who worship her devotees.

This is a basic idea of Tamil devotion: to be a servant of the servants of God is the highest state. 'The honour of riding the white elephant' refers to Indra's white elephant, but it also recalls how Sundarar went to Kailasa on a white elephant.

Periya Puranam, the life of Sundaramurthy Nayanar and the chapter of the white elephant

Sundarar Sings 'Servant of the Servants' and Rides the White Elephant

From Sekkizhar's Periya Puranam. The devotees of Shiva were gathered in the hall of devotees at the Thiruvarur temple. Sundarar arrived and hesitated: 'How can I praise such great devotees?' Then the Lord himself gave him the opening line: 'I am the servant of the servants of the brahmins who dwell in Thillai.'

From that line Sundarar sang the Thiruthondar Thogai. In it he named each of the great devotees one by one and sang, 'I am the servant of their servants.' Centuries later, Sekkizhar wrote the Periya Puranam on the basis of this very song. At the end of Sundarar's life, the Lord sent a white elephant while the gods sounded their instruments, and riding on it Sundarar went to Kailasa.

The one who thought of himself as the servant of servants rode a white elephant amid the sound of music. What Bhattar sings came true exactly: 'To those who worship the devotees, she gives the honour of riding on the white elephant while many instruments sound.'
