Explanation

This verse describes a seeker's whole day. The feet on the head is humility. The mantra in the mind is meditation. Reciting with devotees according to the Agamas is worship. Body, mind and speech all face the same goal.

'Together with your devotees who seek you' matters. Devotion does not grow only in solitude; it becomes steady in the company of like-minded people. In verse 3 Bhattar left harmful company; here he joins the good.

Brahmanda Purana, Lalitopakhyana

Agastya Receives the Lalita Sahasranama

From the Lalitopakhyana. At Kanchi, the sage Agastya grieved to see the suffering of the people of the world. He prayed to Vishnu to know an easy path to their release. Vishnu came as Hayagriva, the form of wisdom, and told him the story of the Mother Lalita.

Even after telling everything, Hayagriva held one thing back. Agastya asked again and again, humbly. Then, with the Mother's permission, Hayagriva taught him the thousand names that the Vashini goddesses had sung before her, the Lalita Sahasranama. 'This is most secret,' he said. 'Give it only to those who ask with love.'

A mantra received humbly from a teacher, kept in the mind and recited with fellow devotees: that is the path Bhattar describes in this verse.
