Explanation

Bharathiyar rejects the habit of looking down on those who work with their hands. Vishwakarma is the architect of the gods, and carpentry, smithing, weaving and sculpture were honoured as sacred arts. The Rig Veda tells how the Ribhus won divine status through the skill of their hands.
In the Swadeshi movement, handloom and handicraft became symbols of self-reliance. The Gita (18.45) says that one devoted to one's own work attains perfection.
