ஓலையுந் தூதருங் கண்டுதிண்டாட லொழித் தெனக்குக்காலையு மாலையு முன்னிற்கு மேகந்த வேள் மருங்கிற்சேலையுங் கட்டிய சீராவுங் கையிற் சிவந்தசெச்சைமாலையுஞ் சேவற் பதாகையுந் தோகையும் வாகையுமே.

திருவைகுண்டத்தில் பிறந்த குமரகுருபரன் ஐந்து வயதுவரை பேசவில்லை. பெற்றோர் அவனைத் திருச்செந்தூருக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்று முருகன் முன் கிடத்தி விரதம் இருந்தனர். முருகன் அருளால் குழந்தை திடீரெனப் பேசத் தொடங்கி, 'கந்தர் கலிவெண்பா' என்ற நூலைப் பாடியது. அதில் முருகனின் அணிகலன்களையும் வடிவையும் விரிவாகப் போற்றினார். கண்முன் நின்ற வடிவையே அவர் பாடினார்.
