Meaning

As Chandran Suvarkki, who gives like the Sankha treasure, rescued the world from the mouth of cruel Kali, so the hunter with the bamboo bow that had driven off his foes saw her and snatched the lady from the cruel serpent's mouth.

Explanation

Another tribute to the patron Chandran Suvarkki: the poet praises him as one who saved people from the evils of the Kali age. Sankha-nidhi and Padma-nidhi are the two great treasures of Kubera.

In a story about Nalan in Kali's grip, praising a patron as ‘one who rescued the world from Kali’ is especially fitting.

The Hunter Saves Her

The hunter kills the python and frees her. In this verse the poet also praises his patron Chandran Suvarkki.
