விளக்கம்
"ஞிமிறு" என்பது தேனீ, வண்டு. தேனீ உழைப்பையும் இன்பத்தையும் ஒன்றாக்குகிறது: அது வேலை செய்வதும் மலரின் இனிமையை நுகர்வதும் ஒன்றே. பாரதி "உழைப்பில் மகிழ்ச்சி" என்ற கருத்தை இங்கு சொல்கிறார்.
பாகவதத்தில் (11.8) அவதூதர் தத்தாத்ரேயர் தம் இருபத்துநான்கு குருமார்களில் தேனீயையும் சொல்கிறார்: தேனீ பல மலர்களிலிருந்தும் சாரத்தை மட்டும் எடுப்பதுபோல், அறிவாளி எல்லா நூல்களிலிருந்தும் சாரத்தை எடுக்க வேண்டும். தேனீ எந்த மலருக்கும் தீங்கு செய்வதில்லை; அதுபோல் பிறரைத் துன்புறுத்தாமல் இன்புற வேண்டும்.
Explanation
'Njimiru' is the bee. The bee makes work and joy one: its labour and its tasting of the flower's sweetness are the same act. Bharathiyar speaks here of joy in work.
In the Bhagavata Purana (11.8) the avadhuta Dattatreya counts the bee among his twenty-four teachers: as the bee takes only the essence from many flowers, the wise should take the essence from all scriptures. The bee harms no flower; so too one should find joy without hurting others.
