இல்லற வாழ்வும் துறவற வாழ்வும் ஆகிய இரண்டும் மாண்பான வினை வாழ்வாகவே விரும்பப்படும். இல்லறம் பற்றுதல் இன்றி விடுதலே முன் சொல்லப்படும்; பற்றுதல் பார்த்தால் தவமே மேலானது.
Meaning
Household life and the life of austerity are both to be chosen as noble lives of action. Household life is named first, provided it is lived without clinging; but where clinging is weighed, austerity is the higher.
