படுமழை மொக்குளின் பல்காலும் தோன்றிக்கெடுமிதோர் யாக்கையென் றெண்ணித் - தடுமாற்றம்தீர்ப்பேம்யாம் என்றுணரும் திண்ணறி வாளரைநேர்ப்பார்யார் நீணிலத்தின் மேல்.

பெய்யும் மழையில் தோன்றும் நீர்க்குமிழி போல, இவ்வுடல் பலமுறை தோன்றி அழிவது என்று எண்ணி, 'பிறவிச் சுழற்சியை நாம் தீர்ப்போம்' என்று உணர்ந்து செயல்படும் உறுதியான அறிவுடையோருக்கு இந்தப் பரந்த உலகில் ஒப்பானவர் யார்?

Seeing that this body appears and bursts again and again like the bubbles that rain makes on water, and resolving 'we will end this wandering through births', who on this wide earth can equal such men of firm wisdom?

மழைத்துளி விழும்போது நீரில் குமிழி தோன்றி உடனே உடைகிறது. உடலும் அப்படியே, ஒவ்வொரு பிறவியிலும்.
'தடுமாற்றம்' என்பது பிறப்பு இறப்புச் சுழற்சி. அதிலிருந்து விடுபட முயல்பவரே உண்மையில் அறிவுடையோர்.
Explanation
When a raindrop falls on water, a bubble rises and bursts at once. The body is the same, birth after birth.
'Taḍumāṭṭam' is the wandering cycle of birth and death. Those who strive to get free of it are the truly wise.
