Meaning

When the old deed comes home, of having relished crabs in a former life, breaking off their legs and eating them, the palms waste away, the fingers rot, and the misery of leprosy breaks out.

Explanation

The one who broke the crab's legs finds his own fingers rotting. Again, deed and fruit share one shape.

The warning: cruelty to a small creature is not a small thing.

To reflect on

Cruelty to a small creature is no small thing.
