Meaning
Allah! Allah! Allah!
The Lord who ordains and graciously makes countless thousands of crores of universes spin and race without stopping in the boundless open sky in every direction; the great Light that neither word nor mind can follow!
Though they be unlearned, though they do not speak the truth, though they be wicked, though they have no tapas, though they do not stand by the justice the good have taught - the moment all of them come and praise him, he removes their fear of death!

Explanation
Bharathiyar's 'Allah' is a fine example of his vision of the oneness of faiths. The way he describes God is in the very language of the Upanishads: 'the great Light that neither word nor mind can follow' is the Tamil form of the Taittiriya Upanishad's 'yato vacho nivartante aprapya manasa saha' (that from which words turn back, along with the mind, without reaching it). The law that makes crores of universes spin is the Vedic 'rita', the cosmic order.
The second charanam speaks of God's boundless mercy: unlearned, liars, wicked - whoever they are, the moment they come and praise him, the fear of death ends. It echoes the Gita's promise, 'api chet sudurachara bhajate mam ananyabhak, sadhur eva sa mantavyah' (even a very wicked man, if he worships me with undivided heart, should be regarded as good). Together with the song on Jesus, it closes the Deiva Padalgal collection with the Vedic idea that Truth is one.
To reflect on
A God who receives all, 'though unlearned, though wicked' - when we judge others, do we follow that mercy?
