Inaiyaaru millaa nizhaiththa uthavi / Punaiyaakas soozhkaanir poanaan - panaiyaakath / Thinnaaka moarettun thaangkun thisaiyanaiththum / Ennaaka vaentha nezhunthu.
Taking as his support the help rendered by that peerless one, he went into the surrounding forest; the king who bears the eight directions rose up and walked, making his own body a pillar.
The verse shows the crossing of the forest: the serpent's help becomes a support, one person's kindness becoming another's road.
Subtly, the king who bears the eight directions is a king still, though without a kingdom — in bearing and in bearing, not only in name.
Note: the second half is very compressed; the reading taken is that the king walked upright like a pillar.
