'O lord of the shoreland, where fresh varal fish graze beneath the cool kazhanir blossoms and stretch their tongues at the drops of pollen: wear this gemmed cloth, and the days of hiding and the hidden form will leave you' — so it was said.
The verse tells the use of the garment: worn, the hiding ends and the form changes — the hope that a lost identity may return.
Subtly, the boon is told briefly, yet it means much: he is to be a king again, and the whole second half of Nalavenba turns about this cloth.
Note: whether he wore it at once or only later is not stated clearly in the sequence; only that the boon was granted.
