Meaning
Like a stone fixed in its gold setting, like the anril bird that never parts from its mate, the woman of the golden bangle said, 'we shall never part from you'; yet for the man who had taken her in she became a broken shard. O good heart, will you stay, or will you go?

Explanation
The two comparisons are emblems of permanence: a set stone does not leave its mounting, and the anril bird does not leave its mate. Both stand for 'I shall not part.' Her promise was as firm as that.
But the end is a broken shard — a thing whose shape is remembered while its use is gone. In the last line the poem turns: the question is not aimed at her but at his own heart. What has to be decided here is not about her but about himself. To stay or to go: either is the outcome of a clear seeing.
To reflect on
What has to be decided is less about her than about himself.
