நடுக்குற்றுத் தற்சேர்ந்தார் துன்பம் துடையார்கொடுத்துத்தான் துய்ப்பினும் ஈண்டுங்கால் ஈண்டும்மிடுக்குற்றுப் பற்றினும் நில்லாது செல்வம்விடுக்கும் வினையுலந்தக் கால்.

பொருள்
நடுங்கித் தம்மை அடைந்தவர்களின் துன்பத்தைத் துடைக்காதவர்கள், கொடுக்காமல் தாமே அனுபவித்தாலும், பொருள் சேர வேண்டிய காலத்தில்தான் சேரும். வலிமையோடு இறுகப் பற்றினாலும், நல்வினை தீர்ந்த காலத்தில் செல்வம் நில்லாமல் விட்டு நீங்கும்.
Meaning
Those who will not wipe away the pain of the trembling people who come to them may hoard and enjoy alone, yet wealth only gathers when its time comes. Clutch it as hard as you like; when your good karma is spent, it lets go and leaves.
