பொய்யால் சுவர்க்கம், வாயால் நிரயம், பொருளாலும் மை போன்ற கண்ணை உடைய மடந்தையாலும் வாழ்வு இனிது; மெய்யென்றால், நீண்ட மலர்க் கண்ணாய், எத்தவம் ஆனாலும் தீதன்று.
Meaning
Heaven by falsehood, hell by the mouth, a pleasant life by wealth and by a woman of dark eyes: but speak the truth, O you of the long flower-like eye, and no austerity you take up is a harm.
