பொருள்
முதுமை வருமுன்னே அறவினையை ஊக்கி அதில் முயலாதவனை, 'வெளியே போ' என்னும் கடுஞ்சொல், தன் வீட்டுக்குள்ளேயே தன் குடும்பத்தாரால் சொல்லப்படும்.
Meaning
The man who does not rouse himself to virtuous deeds before old age arrives will hear the harsh words 'get out of here' spoken to him at his own door, by his own household.

Explanation
The verse is built around time: before old age comes. So it names what must be done while young, and then what follows if it is not done.
The consequence does not come from outside; it comes from inside the house. 'Get out of here' is not a stranger's curse but the voice of a man's own people. That is the sharpness of it: the world need not punish a wasted life, because the home will do it. Virtue is not only for the world to come; it is a support for old age.
