Meaning

Intestines, fat, blood, bone, sinew and skin, with flesh and slime packed in between — among all these, of what sort is she who wears the damp garland?

Explanation

The organs are listed in order, a catalogue with no ornament. Into the middle of that list comes the lovely phrase she of the damp garland; that collision is the verse's force.

The closing question needs no answer. Once the answer is known, beauty shows itself to be only a way of looking.

To reflect on

The garland and the intestines live in the same body.
