தவலருந் தொல்கேள்வித் தன்மை யுடையார்இகலிலர் எஃகுடையார் தம்முள் குழீஇநகலின் இனிதாயின் காண்பாம் அகல்வானத்துஉம்ப ருறைவார் பதி.

பொருள்
அழியாத பழைய கேள்வி அறிவுடையோர், பகைமையின்றி, கூர்மையான அறிவோடு ஒன்றுகூடி மகிழ்ந்து உரையாடுவதைவிட, அகன்ற வானத்தின் மேல் வாழும் தேவர்களின் உலகம் இனியது என்றால், அதைக் காண்போம். (அதைவிட இனியது இல்லை.)
Meaning
When men of deep, unfailing learning, free of rivalry and sharp of mind, gather and laugh together in delight: if the city of the gods above the wide sky is sweeter than that, let us go and see it. (Nothing is sweeter.)

Explanation
The verse says a gathering of the learned is heaven itself, sweeter than the world of the gods.
There is a smile in 'if it is sweeter, let us go and see'.
