பொருள்
ஊரின் சாக்கடை நீரும் பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடும் ஆற்று நீரோடு சேர்ந்தால், தன் பெயர் மாறித் 'தீர்த்தம்' (புனித நீர்) ஆகிவிடும். அதுபோல, குலச் சிறப்பு இல்லாதவர்களும் நற்பண்புடைய நல்லோரைச் சேர்ந்தால் மலை போல உயர்ந்து நிற்பர்.
Meaning
When the gutter water of a town joins the strong current of a great river, it loses its old name and becomes holy tīrtham. In the same way, even those of no distinguished family stand tall as hills when they join themselves to good and noble people.
