எந்நிலத்து வித்திடினும் காஞ்சிரங்காய் தெங்காகாதென்னாட் டவருஞ் சுவர்க்கம் புகுதலால்தன்னாற்றா னாகும் மறுமை வடதிசையும்கொன்னாளர் சாலப் பலர்.

பொருள்
எந்த நிலத்தில் விதைத்தாலும் எட்டிக்காய் தென்னையாகாது. எமன் திசையான தெற்கில் உள்ளவர்களும் சுவர்க்கம் புகுவதால், மறுமை ஒருவன் தன் நடத்தையாலேயே அமையும். புனித திசையான வடக்கிலும் பயனற்றவர் பலர் உள்ளனர்.
Meaning
Sow the nux-vomica seed in any soil you like, it will never grow into a coconut palm. Since even people of the south, the direction of Yama, enter heaven, the next world is shaped by one's own conduct; and in the holy north too there are plenty of worthless men.
