முத்திதனை அடைந்தோர் முந்துபழம் போது அங்கிவித்தகமாம் வீணை இவையிற்றின் – ஒத்தஇரதம்மணம் வெம்மை எழில்நாதம் போலவிரவுவர் என்று ஓதும் விதி.
Muththithanai atainthoar munthupazham poathu angki / Viththakamaam veenai ivaiyirrin – oththa / Irathammanam vemmai ezhilnaatham poala / Viravuvar enru oathum vithi.
பொருள்
முத்தியை அடைந்தவர்கள், பழத்தில் சுவை போலவும், மலரில் மணம் போலவும், நெருப்பில் வெப்பம் போலவும், திறமிக்க வீணையில் அழகிய நாதம் போலவும் இறைவனோடு கலந்து நிற்பார்கள் என்று நூல் விதி சொல்கிறது.
Meaning
Those who reach liberation are joined with the Lord as taste is in the fruit, fragrance in the flower, heat in fire, and lovely sound in the skilled veena: so the scripture's rule declares.

விளக்கம்
இங்கிருந்து முத்தியின் இயல்பு விளக்கப்படுகிறது. நான்கு உவமைகளும் ஒரே கருத்தைச் சொல்கின்றன: சுவை பழத்தை விட்டுப் பிரிந்திருப்பதில்லை, ஆனாலும் சுவையும் பழமும் ஒன்றல்ல. மணம் மலரில், வெப்பம் நெருப்பில், இசை வீணையில் இப்படியே. முத்தியில் ஆன்மா சிவத்தோடு பிரிவின்றிக் கலக்கிறது; ஆனால் அழிந்துபோவதில்லை. இதுவே சைவ சித்தாந்த அத்துவித முத்தி.
Explanation
From here the nature of liberation is explained. The four images say one thing: taste is never apart from the fruit, yet taste and fruit are not the same. So it is with fragrance in the flower, heat in fire and music in the veena. In liberation the soul is joined with Shiva without separation, yet it is not destroyed. This is the advaita liberation of Shaiva Siddhanta.
