Meaning
Lakshmi who dwells in the flower! My longing for you overflows. Seeing your face that shines like the moon, your eyes that wipe out the minds of those who see them, your tinkling speech, your smile bright with divine delight, your radiant form of wealth, I long for your joy. Lakshmi of the lotus! I stand in love with you.
Maiden! Those who won you here gained a crore of joys. If you love me, I will live like the immortals; I will live singing songs of you that echo against the Himalaya. I will make Saraswati forever sing your glories. Must you go away shy? Do you not know me well? Are not all the sons who take the vow of tending the whole world and making good increase the instruments of Kannan?
You came bearing gold, fine gems and shining ornaments! How shall I describe the beauty of the jewels resting on your gleaming form, Lakshmi! Nectar of my life! I will hold you close to my breast and live without equal.
Gaining the eight kinds of wealth, made upright through you, I will live; I will make the cruelty called 'there is none' vanish from the world. Showing your jasmine smile, removing the torment of longing, O endless sweetness, make me live forever.

Explanation
This continues the mood of the previous song, 'Tirukkadal'. The line 'I will make the cruelty called "there is none" vanish from the world' sums up Bharathiyar's social dream; elsewhere he sang, 'If a single man has no food, we will destroy the world'. That anger becomes a prayer to Lakshmi here.
'Are not all the sons who take the vow of tending the whole world the instruments of Kannan?' - those who work for others' good are God's instruments, and Lakshmi should not hold back from them. There is a subtlety too: Lakshmi is Vishnu's consort, so her grace should come naturally to Krishna's servants.
The 'eight kinds of wealth' are those of the Ashta Lakshmis - wealth, grain, courage, learning, progeny, victory, elephants (royal power) and the primal wealth.
To reflect on
'I will make the cruelty called "there is none" vanish from the world' - when is asking for wealth greed, and when is it service?
