Thammai yikazhnthamai thaamporuppa thanrimarru / Emmai ikazhntha vinaippayaththaal - ummai / Erivaay nirayaththu veezhvarkol enru / Parivathooum saanroar katan.
Meaning
Bearing one's own being reviled is not the whole duty. The noble must also grieve, thinking: by the fruit of the deeds that reviled us, may they not fall into the burning hell.

Explanation
Forbearance here is only the first step. The second is concern — grieving for the one who reviled you.
This is the exact opposite of the natural human reaction. That is why it is called a duty: not because it comes easily, but because it is owed.
To reflect on
Bearing it is not enough; one must grieve for the reviler.
