Explanation
The seven vidya tattvas, also called kanchukas or 'sheaths', bit by bit light up the knowledge and action of the soul, which anavam has veiled, and make it fit to experience the world. As clothing gives the body protection and shape, these give the soul a bounded experience. Their works come in the next verse.
