Meaning
Taking the feet of Shakti as our refuge, singing again and again with devotion, we will see the state of liberation; by that, the disease of worry cured, we will wear the mark of immortality.
If falsehood burns away like a fierce fire scattering sparks, and we are seized by divine frenzy, that itself is liberation. The whole world moving by its law is nothing but divine power - this is knowledge with all doubt ended.
What appears in knowledge appears on earth too. Will you live on earth as paupers! So that you see the goal, win all wealth and excel, there is the spear of victory, rich in diamond splendour, that Shakti gives.
Bow to the spear and there is freedom; bow at the feet of Murugan of the spear and worry goes. Gaining higher knowledge by oneself and saying 'Shakti, Shakti, Shakti' - that is happiness.
I worshipped seeking happiness; always I wept, suffering within. Showing a change in this age, showing the path of strength, she gave me comfort.

Explanation
This is an andadi of five venbas: the last word of each becomes the first of the next - pori/porisindum, arivu/arivile, vel/velai, sukam/sukattinai. The venba is the strictest metre in Tamil, and in it Bharathiyar states the philosophy of Shakti in compressed form.
Three ideas stand out. First, 'if seized by divine frenzy, that itself is liberation' - moksha is not something after death; this very moment of intense love for God is freedom (jivan mukti). Second, 'what appears in knowledge appears on earth' - truth realised within shows itself in the outer world too. So he scolds, 'Will you live as paupers!', meaning one who holds Shakti should not remain in want. Third, the honesty of the last venba: 'I worshipped seeking happiness; always I wept' - yet the Mother showed the path of strength and gave comfort.
To reflect on
'What appears in knowledge appears on earth' - which belief within you is shaping your outer life?
