Thammai ikazhvaaraith thaamavarin munnikazhka / Ennai avarotu pattathu - punnai / Virarpoong kamazhkaanal veengkuneers saerppa / Urarpaala yaarkkum urum.

Meaning

Must we scorn first those who scorn us? What have we to do with them? O lord of the swelling shore, where the fine punnai blossoms scent the seaside grove: whatever is due to anyone will reach him. (Their own deeds will find them.)

Explanation

There is no need to answer scorn with scorn. Each person's deeds will come looking for him.

We can leave the reckoning to karma and stay at peace.

To reflect on

Leave the payback to karma.
