Explanation

The question is whether the soul can hold to Shiva and to the bond at the same time. The Siddhanta teaching that 'the soul takes the colour of what it leans on' answers it. When the soul leans on the bond, the Lord is present but not seen; when it leans on the Lord, the bond is present but loses its power, as darkness cannot be found once sunlight has come. The Thirukkural says the same: 'Hold to the One who holds to nothing; hold to Him, so that you may let go of every other hold.'

To reflect on

What did our mind lean on today? Do we believe that if we change what we hold to, our life will change too?
