Explanation

For the spear that pierced a mountain, piercing the delusion around the mind is easy. Knowing that desire can fell even renunciates, the poet does not rely on his own effort but surrenders to the Lord.

From the Ramayana, Bala Kandam

Vishwamitra and Menaka

Indra sent Menaka to break the fierce penance of Vishwamitra. Enchanted by her beauty, the sage forgot his austerities for years. When he awoke, he grieved, went again to the Himalayas and practised even harder penance. At last, having conquered desire and anger, he became a Brahmarishi. Even after a fall, the way is to rise again.

To reflect on

How have you risen again after stumbling?
