Explanation
This is a manipravala song: the first part entirely in Sanskrit, the second in 'Tamil couplets'. Jayadeva's Gita Govinda and the North Indian bhajan tradition had spread into Tamil Nadu as 'Radha Kalyanam' bhajans, and Bharathiyar sings in that tradition.
Calling Radha 'the form of Adi Parashakti' matters. In Vaishnavism Radha is Krishna's hladini shakti, the power of bliss. Bharathiyar sees her as the Shaktas' Parashakti: Radha, Kannamma, Lakshmi and Kali are all one. 'Essence of the great Vedic mantras' says that love (bhakti) is the essence of the Veda.
In the Tamil couplets, 'the island called love' and 'the grove called love' are metaphors: devotion is the island where Radha was born, and devotion is the grove where she stands.
To reflect on
He calls Radha 'the essence of the great Vedic mantras'. Where do knowledge and love become one?
