Meaning

O you who lovingly joined me, one who never thought of giving and had no understanding, to the company of devotees who never fail! O Lord of the spear who achieved the destruction of the Krauncha mountain! Release from the prison of birth has come; the shackles of attachment and karma have fallen away.

Explanation

The lament of earlier verses turns to joy here. How did freedom come? Because Murugan lovingly placed him among devotees. The company of the good is the door to liberation.

From the Periya Puranam

Nandanar, 'the one who will go tomorrow'

Nandanar of Adhanur longed to see Nataraja at Thillai. But each time he sought his master's leave he could only say, 'I will go tomorrow', and so he came to be called Thirunaalaippovaar. When at last he reached Thillai, the priests of Thillai welcomed him at the Lord's command. He entered a sacred fire, rose in the pure form of a sage, went into the temple with the company of devotees and merged with Nataraja.
