Meaning

With devotion I beheld the nectar that tastes sweet as six holy faces and twelve shoulders, so that all my doings died away and subsided, in the supreme ocean of bliss that melts and swells in the lotus of the mind, dashes against the worlds and overflows its shores!

Explanation

This is not explanation but experience. The nectar takes form here as the six-faced Lord. When the thought 'I am the doer' vanishes, bliss overflows its banks.

From the life of Sri Ramakrishna

The ocean of light

At Dakshineswar the young Gadadhar wept with longing to see Mother Kali. One day, unable to bear it, he seized the temple sword to end his life. In that instant, he later said, the walls and temple vanished and a boundless ocean of light came rushing at him wave after wave and engulfed him. Within it he felt the Mother's presence. That was his first great experience.
