Mahabharata, Vana Parva'We Are a Hundred and Five'
From the Mahabharata, Vana Parva. To mock the Pandavas in their hardship, Duryodhana came to the forest with a great retinue. There he clashed with the Gandharvas, was defeated, and was taken captive.
His fleeing soldiers begged Yudhishthira for help. Bhima said, "This is just punishment for the one who wronged us." Yudhishthira replied, "Among ourselves we may quarrel; we are five and they are a hundred. But against others, we are a hundred and five."
At his command, Arjuna and Bhima went and freed Duryodhana. Yudhishthira, who bent to protect even the kinsman who had come to harm him, carried his clan just as the letter ங carries its row.
